Have Thine Own Way Lord

Have Thine own way Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay!
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, Yielded and still

Have Thine own way Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow

Have Thine own way Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power all power surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me Saviour divine!

Have Thine own way Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy spirit ‘til all shall see
Christ only, always, Living in me!

Amen

The other day I found this hymn and I really liked it. It seems to say all the basic things I would like to pray every day. Being yielded and surrendered to the Lord, asking to be changed on the inside, asking for help and healing, asking to be filled, speaking out who God is in my life (the potter, Master, Savior), and the main goal, til all shall see Christ only living in me. There is more in it than what I just said, but that's what stuck out to me the most. I think someone should do a Remix of this song...Jon Long maybe...I hope this song speaks to all you that read it in some way or other.

I had troubles reading it when it came to the "thine own" part . . .it just sounded funny and confusing in my head. But other then that . . .lovely.

Saying "not my will, but your will be done" is SO HARD! By surrendering to God we're basically handing everything we love over to him. Saying to him that his will is more important than our needs or desires. It's hard to trust that he'll take care of us, so we control and become stubborn...and round and round we go. I just love how complicated our hearts are, don't you?

Anway, I really liked this post of yours.=)Thanks Steve.

brilliant post Steve.

I agree that obedience is hard, but it shows trust. I had completely forgotten that hymn... thanks for the great reminder.
